Rules and Regulations
There shall be 21 papers in total which is spread over four Semesters. Each paper shall carry 100 marks. Out of 21 papers, 15 papers are theory and six papers are practical.
Practical
There shall be six practical papers each carrying 100 marks. 30 marks in each paper shall be reserved for internal assessment. The internal assessment shall be done on the basis of maintenance of practical record and regularity of attendance, etc. There shall be no writing assignment in practical examinations. The student shall be required to perform the posture etc. physically and shall be asked verbal questions related to Yoga, Asanas and Pranayamas etc. prescribed in the syllabus. Submissions of Practical Records for each Practical paper are mandatory and cannot be relaxed in any manner. The question in the viva voce of practical shall be strictly confined to the technique, the benefit and the contrandications of the prescribed postures etc. There shall be no question from outside the prescribed syllabus of the concerned paper.
Examination Duration and Period
Examination of each theory paper shall be of 3 hours’ duration. The duration of practical examinations shall be according to requirement. A candidate admitted to the course shall complete the course within two academic years from the date of admission. Every Semester will normally be conducted at a gap of six months. Indiscipline of any kind is not allowed during the examination.
Percentage of Marks for Pass/Division:
Necessary division shall be awarded taking into account the total aggregate marks secured in all four Semesters.

- Securing 60% or more marks - First Class
- Securing 50% or more marks and - Second Class less than 60% in aggregate
- Securing 40% or more marks and - Third Class And less than 50% in aggregate
Attendance: The minimum compulsory attendance for students with regard to his/her eligibility for final examination has been fixed at 75% of the actual number of working days.
Back/Repeat Appearance/No. of Chances
A candidate who fails in any theory paper/papers in a particular semester examination may appear the said paper/papers within the next two consecutive chances as back examination. Students having less attendance will have to attend extra classes to make up the shortfall as will be arranged with fine proportionate to his/her less attendance as per institute rules.
However, ineligible students to fill up the forms for less attendance can appear one semester at a time after completing the extra classes as will be arranged by the Institute. However, he/she will have to pay the tuition fees and fines as applicable to the students of succeeding years.
Students not completed the course within two years will have also to pay re-admission fees as will be applicable from time to time.
A candidate may repeat any paper/papers once only within two consecutive years for division improvement.
